Teresa Gorman is the Local News Associate in the Public Square Program at the Democracy Fund. Focusing on a vibrant media and the public square, Teresa supports the Public Square Program’s mission to invest in innovations and institutions that help people understand and participate in the democratic process, with a focus on local news and information. The program recently launched and participated in several locally-focused funder collaborations, including the North Carolina Local News Lab Fund, New Jersey Local News Lab Fund, Community Listening and Engagement Fund, and NewsMatch. Previously, Teresa spent her career working at the intersection of public media, local news, and digital media at AIR (the Association of Independents in Radio), NPR, and PBS NewsHour.
